Center Ice Hockey Magazine was launched in November of 2000.  After months of planning and preparation, the inaugural issue of Center Ice Hockey Magazine was released at the end of November.

Center Ice Hockey Magazine was created to entertain and inform hockey fans and players of all ages.  With the rapid growing interest in hockey in the Delaware Valley and beyond; this publication serves as a medium to provide an abundant supply of hockey knowledge and information.  “We at Center Ice hope to be able to give various insights of the game to all of our readers whether they are young or old,” said Managing Editor Fran Rubert.

It generally focuses on the Flyers, Phantoms, Trenton Devils and Reading Royals but also devotes space to youth, high school, college, club, and women’s hockey in the Tri-State area.  “We hope to cover such a diverse and broad range that anyone associated with hockey in any way will enjoy this new magazine,” remarked Executive Editor Mike del Tufo.

The content of each issue of Center Ice Hockey Magazine includes:

·  Flyers coverage – There is a team report, several features on players, articles   concerning issues affecting the team, a section on player appearances in the community, and a trivia contest on the team with the winner getting a stick signed by a Flyer.  Upcoming and achieved Flyer milestones are also noted.

·  Phantoms coverage – There is a team report and features on players.  The development of possible future Flyers is chronicled.

·  Reading Royals coverage- Each team’s progress will be covered and certain players are spotlighted.

·  Youth Hockey – Leagues around the region are covered from mites up to high school age.  There is a Player of the Month feature every issue.

·  High School Hockey – The numerous area high school leagues are covered.

· College Hockey – The numerous area college leagues are covered.

·  USA Hockey – There is a section dedicated to the United States hockey programs from ages Under 17 to the National Men’s and Women’s teams.

·  Women’s Hockey – There are news and articles on this fast-growing section  of hockey.  More and more women seem to be taking up the sport.

·  General hockey articles

Center Ice Hockey Magazine welcomes feedback from all of its readers and encourages submissions especially from area high schools, colleges, and club leagues.  “We want to be as comprehensive a hockey magazine in the Tri-State area as we can,” remarked del Tufo.  Participation and contributions from the readership can only make Center Ice better.

“Our goal is to be the best hockey news publication in the area covering hockey from the youth amateur level to the professional level.  We want to be the premier hockey magazine in the area,” said Rubert.

Del & Narf Inc. was based in Holland, PA and was formed in 2000 by Fran Rubert and Mike del Tufo. Rubert has covered the Flyers for the past twenty years for various media outlets.  He has worked for radio and magazines, and has also been a TV sports anchor for TSM.  He is a long-time sports enthusiast who also holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration.  Mr. del Tufo has covered the Flyers for the last twelve years for TV and another regional hockey publication.  He worked as an NHL Correspondent for a TV station in Delaware and contributed numerous hockey articles to several magazines around the region.

Center Ice Hockey Magazine is distributed in over 40 hockey rinks in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware. It reaches a demographic age sampling from 1 to 91 years old and an estimated 100,000 people.
