Flyers Impressive in 5-2 Road Win in Pittsburgh

In a crucial game in the Atlantic Division standings, the Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-2 at the Consol Energy Center.  The win put the Flyers 4 points ahead of the Pens in their division.  It also gave them their 25th road victory for the season which is a new franchise record.

It was a strong showing by the Flyers who got goals from forwards Jeff Carter, Claude Giroux, and Scott Hartnell and two goals from Ville Leino.  They twice had to battle back from one-goal deficits and ended up scoring 4 unanswered goals when they were down 2-1.  They had a rather slow start but took over in the 2nd period.  They entered the 3rd period up by a goal and added two more.

The Flyers swept the Pens in the 3 games in Pittsburgh this season.  They are undefeated at the Consol Energy Center.  Sergei Bobrovsky got the victory in each of the games.

Ville Leino scored 2 goals to lead the Flyers to this win
